Compliments of the new year!
Another year has passed: another end followed by another beginning.
You may not subscribe to the Gregorian persuasion, perhaps your preferred calendar is lunar, or Mayan or the type that revolves around something else entirely. Even if you do centre your life on the calendar, you may find yourself asking "what's the big fuss? It feels just like any other day"
But perhaps there's something to recognising the day or at least the sentiments of the times/month (as you can tell I'm a little late to the party).
Although to some it may seem arbitrary, the beginning of the new year reeks of the scent of possibility.
As we change our orientation to 01 of 01 of a completely new year, a year that has never been, it is hard not to feel a sense of clean slate-ness, freshness, dare I say... renewal.
At the very least the new year can be useful as a kind of yardstick, metric, or landmark to recognise where we stand; a place to look back on to compare to going forward.
So while I tend to believe that change happens when you accept change rather than on a particular date. I prefer to see change as an on-going journey with ever shifting goalposts. Despite this, take advantage! Tap into the energy of renewal and beginnings. Use this energy to fuel your current goals or even to take steps toward defining new goals. Breathe it in for what it is, and find gratitude in something around you. Even in the opportunity to find something to focus on.
I wish you all a happy new year. Filled with positive vibes, good things, healthy living and overall wellness
