"Feat of strength? Ah now that you are here with me, what we have is a strength of feet!"
Our feet work hard. Relative to the size of our body, they are a small mechanism that we rely on daily, to lug us around. Even though they work hard as a matter of course, it is actually for this reason that we should make an effort to strengthen and grow the muscles in our feet. Your feet consist of 26 bones, more than 30 joints and over 100 muscles. These muscles power the feet and are connected to the muscles in our legs and drive all sorts of movement.
Another reason to work them feet, is to offer extra support to our ankles, which are also the seat of our stability yet are quite delicate. The ankle is comprised of 3 main bones, cartilage and tendons. If you have ever sprained or rolled an ankle you know how essential ankle stability can be.
The good news is that foot exercises can be done at home, at work or even when waiting in a queue.
Try these 4 easy foot exercises:
